CW House
A modern Japanese cottage style house for a family of four. The husband liked dark wood colour but he did not want the house look dark. The wife liked cottage style interior. We combined the couple’s preferences and came out with this cozy and charming design.
Top : Wall panel behind the couch which was the one of the element of the Japanese cottage style design.
Top : A simple frame designed at the entryway on the right connecting walkway to the bedrooms. We designed the frame using the same walnut colour finishes and straight line design to complement with the partition design at the entrance. It became the highlight of the empty wall and it made the space seemingly taller.
Top : We designed a partition panel with timber strips. The slit design allowed lights to go through and yet it provided privacy for the occupants in the house.
Right : A cabinet to hide Electricity Distribution Box and it combined seamlessly with the partition design.

Top : A Balinese style chair that the owner brought from their previous house. The chair just blended into the whole design seamlessly.
Right : We hacked off the existing 1ft x 2ft wall tiles and change to this cottage style subway tiles. The glossy finished tile made the cleaning works easier.

Top : The daughter’s room of size 2.8m x 2.8m. She requested for a Tatami style bed with a reading corner. Despite the small space limitation, we designed a platform bed with a low storage cabinet under the window that acted as a table for reading. Utilizing the space created under the platform, drawers were designed for clothes and storage purpose.
